Lewis in Parliament

Today in Parliament, I stood up to defend one of the oldest and most fundamental parts of our justice system.

Labour are seeking to abolish jury trials for most cases. They claim that is the only way to get the backlog in our courts down, but they are far too quick to abandon this important principle of justice when they have failed to exhaust all other available options.

In my speech, I argued that this is all part of a pattern from this Government where they put ideology above some of the most foundational elements of our country.
